Linking to Other Pages |
| |
A link, also known as a hyperlink, is what distinguishes web pages from plain old pages. Clicking a link takes a web user to another location on the Internet. A link is simply the address of the page the link refers to.

You Try It: Create a Link From Text or Images |
- In the Composer window, select the text or image that you want to become a link.
- Click the Link button on the Composition toolbar. Either way, the Format dialog box will appear, with the Link panel at the front.
or
From the Composer menu bar, select Insert, Link.
- Type (or paste) the URL of the page to which you want to link in the URL (Page Location) or File text box.
- Click OK to close the Format dialog box and return to the Composer window.
If the link is a piece of text, you'll see the text underlined and colored blue. If the link is an image, you may not see anything marking it as a link.

Tips for New Users |
| |
Tips: Links to web pages usually start with http:// - a protocol type that tells the browser software that the link is to a web page. Links to email addresses start with mailto:. To link to an email address, type mailto:youraddress@yourdomain.com in the URL (Page Location) or File text box.
Tips: You can drag a file from your desktop into the Composer window to link to it, or you can drag a link from Navigator, Messenger, or Collabra into the Composer window to add it to your page. (You can change the link after you drag it into the window.)
