Netscape Migration Toolkit 2.0

Messaging Server | Calendar Server | Collabra Server | More Data Sheets

Netscape Migration Toolkit converts messages, attachments, folders, folder hierarchy, distribution lists, aliases, address books (personal distribution lists and user-selected aliases), and other messaging system information to Netscape Communicator and Netscape Messaging Server.

The toolkit also converts directory information into a Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) file, which can be loaded into an LDAP-compliant directory server, such as Netscape Directory Server. LDAP is the open Internet standard for accessing and managing directories.

FEATURES OVERVIEW

  • Provides intuitive tools for users or administrators.
  • Converts message folder and directory information.
  • Allows administrators to control the scale and scope of user migration.
  • Intuitive, Extensive Mail and Directory Migration Tools

Today the link between intranets and the global Internet has opened the door to seamless electronic communication, allowing corporate users to communicate both internally and with customers, partners, and suppliers worldwide. To take full advantage of the opportunities presented by these open standards messaging products, tools are needed to make the transition from legacy and proprietary messaging systems.

Netscape Migration Toolkit provides companies with easy-to-use, comprehensive migration tools to convert their users and their existing messaging systems - such as cc:Mail and Eudora - to Netscape Messaging Server and Netscape Communicator. Extensive, high-fidelity conversion, automated processes, control tools, and an intuitive GUI make it easy for IS managers and users to migrate their messaging and directory information.

    Automates the Process

Netscape Migration Toolkit automatically creates user accounts on Netscape Messaging Server and converts user message and folder information.

    Provides Better Control

Control tools enable information technology (IT) professionals to migrate individuals, groups, or an entire post office at one time, allowing for better control over the number of users to migrate at any given time. The toolkit also provides better control over the migration process, allowing IT professionals to estimate the disk space required to migrate selected users and to set size restrictions to filter out large messages or attachments. Log Files provides a detailed record of which users, messages, and attachments were migrated.
