Shareware
This is the place to go to when you want to find new shareware utilities and programs for your personal computer. Figure 7.3 shows the Shareware window where you find all the latest shareware sorted by category and ready for downloading. Lesson 16, "Smart Downloading with Netscape Download," has more information about downloading shareware from Netscape Netcenter.

Shareware Shareware is software that is available from the Internet, not at traditional retail stores. You "share" in the cost of shareware by paying an optional user's fee. Contrast shareware with freeware, which is also available for download, but has no fees associated with it. |
