Importing Other Address Book Entries into Netscape Address Book
The fastest and easiest way to create a Netscape Address Book is to begin with an existing address book. For example, if you have an address book set up in Netscape Messenger or Microsoft Outlook, you can import that address book into Netscape Address Book-and access those entries from any computer.
Here's how to import address book entries into Netscape Address Book:
- Open the address book in your email program, then either save or export the address book to a file on your hard disk.
- Use your Web browser to go to your Netscape Address Book.
- Click the Customize icon.
- When the Customize Address Book page appears, go to the Import from a File section and click the Browse button.
 |
Use the Right Browser! To import address book entries into Netscape Address Book, you need to be using Netscape Navigator 4.5 or above as your Web browser. Other browsers such as Internet Explorer and older versions of Netscape Navigator are unable to perform the import function. |
- When the File Upload dialog box appears, locate the address book file you exported from your email program and click the Open button.
- You are returned to the Customize Address Book page. Click the Import button to begin importing the selected file.
- When the import process is complete, click the Save button at the top of the Customize Address Book page to save the new entries.

Exporting Netscape Address Book Entries You can also export your Netscape Address Book entries to other address books, such as the address book in Netscape Messenger. Just click the Customize icon to go to the Customize Address Book page, go to the Export to a File section, and choose an address book format from the pull-down list. Netscape Address Book automatically downloads its entries to a file on your hard disk, which can be imported into your specific email program. |
