Lesson Content

If you have messages waiting, your Netscape WebMail page shows a message indicating how many new messages are in your Inbox folder. To read and reply to waiting messages, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Get Mail link to display the contents of your Inbox folder.
  1. When the Inbox page appears (see Figure 12.3), click the subject of the message you want to read. The full message is displayed on a new Web page.

Figure 12.3  You can see the sender's name and the subject of each message in your Netscape WebMail Inbox.

  1. To print a copy of the message, click the Print button.
  1. To reply to this message, click the Reply button. When the Write Mail page appears, the original message sender is listed in the Email To box, with the original message's subject referenced in the Subject box. The original message is "quoted" in the text area of the window, following the phrase "Original sender wrote." Type your reply in the text area above the quoted text, then click the Send button.
  1. To delete a message, click the Delete button.
  1. To store a message in another folder, select a folder from the Move Message To pull-down list.
  1. To add the sender of this message to your Netscape Address Book, click the Add To Address Book link.
  1. To block all further messages from this sender, click Add To Junk Mail Blocker List.
  1. To return to your Inbox without deleting or moving the message, click the Get Mail link.

Get into the habit of doing something with your messages (deleting or moving them) as soon as you read them; too many previously read messages can clog up your Netscape WebMail Inbox folder.
