Understanding Netscape Community Forums
There are many ways you can communicate with other groups of users on the Internet. For example, you can join an email mailing list (go to www.liszt.com for a complete list and instructions) or use the Usenet newsgroups (accessible from Netscape Messenger). If you're a member of Netscape Netcenter, you have access to another kind of electronic discussion group: Netscape Community Forums.
Netscape Community Forums are online communities where members interested in a specific topic share their views and exchange messages. Unlike most other online "bulletin boards," Netscape Community Forums are facilitated by experienced hosts and feature numerous special events with industry leaders. There are six main areas in Netscape Community Forums:
- Career Center
- Computing & Internet
- Small Business Source
- Entertainment
- Web Culture
- Issues and Ideas
Each forum has dozens of discussion topics, each containing dozens of individual messages, called posts. Each forum is moderated by a forum host, who helps keep discussions on track, and, when necessary, enforces rules of decorum.
Use Netscape Community Forums to discuss issues with like-minded individuals, and to ask questions of other members. Netscape Community Forums are great places to "network" and interact with other professionals, sharing views, opinions, and expertise on key issues.
